Enrichment Workshops
We are pleased to offer workshops and enrichment classes that provide extraordinary learning experiences for students interested in exploring new interests, strengthening skills, or advancing their current understanding in non-traditional classes.
Classes are open to all students from all schools (with the exception of Cracking the College Essay and the Test Preparation Course, which are open only to Sage Hill students). Students will not receive credit for these enrichment classes and workshops.
Registration is now open and will close one week before the start of the camp.
Skill Development
Cracking the College Essay Sage Hill students entering grade 12, 6/20 - 6/23, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Tuesday - Thursday), 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Friday), or 8/1 - 8/4, 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM (Tuesday - Thursday), 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM (Friday) This workshop will start with the College Counseling team and workshop participants reviewing college essays written by students who have achieved success in the college admissions process, uncovering the factors and elements that contribute to a great college essay. We will also use brainstorming/pre-writing techniques to uncover the richest material and then start writing. After working with the college counselors and an English Department faculty member throughout the week, participants should have a draft for one of the Common Application main essay prompts, as well as the potential to have created writing samples for other essay prompts they will encounter in the admissions process. On the final day, students will also have one-on-one meetings with current college admissions officers and get instant feedback. Students should bring a laptop. Due to limited capacity, students may only attend one week.

GenHERation® Summer Intensive at Sage Hill Students entering grades 7-12, 7/31 - 8/2, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM This workshop meets Monday through Wednesday. Designed to equip students with the tools to succeed in the classroom, college, and beyond, the GenHERation® Summer Intensive at Sage Hill School is a rigorous, dynamic, and immersive experience that inspires young women to achieve their personal and professional goals by encouraging them to think big and push the limits of what’s possible. During the GenHERation® Summer Intensive, students will: • Learn from the most innovative companies in America through panel discussions, mentoring sessions, and custom-designed challenges • Meet powerful leaders from Fortune 500 companies, tech giants, retailers, government agencies, and sports franchises • Participate in skill-building simulations to practically apply learnings and real-world business practices • Collaborate as a team to develop and present a venture to a panel of community leaders • Explore different career paths to discover future job and internship opportunities • Refine their leadership, creativity, critical thinking, communication, entrepreneurial, analytical, and problem-solving skills All participants who successfully complete the program will earn a GenHERation® Summer Intensive Leadership Certificate.

Ninth Grade English Workshop Students entering grade 9, Session 1*: 6/12 - 6/16, 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM, 6/20 - 6/23, 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM or Session 2*: 6/12 - 6/16, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM, 6/20 - 6/23, 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM, or Session 3: 7/17 - 7/28, 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM or Session 4: 7/17 - 7/28, 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM *In observance of Juneteenth, the school will be closed on June 19. During this two-week non-credit course, students will work with English faculty members on the skills necessary for a successful beginning to their English careers at Sage Hill School. In addition to practicing analytical writing strategies and proper annotation skills, students will work on their summer reading assignments for English I. Students will make new friends in an environment that will set them on the right path for the upcoming school year! Price: $950 per session
Study Skills Students entering grades 8-12, Week of 8/7 - 8/11, 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM Students will develop effective and efficient learning strategies, including reading, note-taking, study skills, organization and time management. Students should bring a computer, binder, notes, pens, highlighter. Price: $500
SAT, Digital SAT & ACT Test Preparation Course Sage Hill students entering grade 11, 6/20 - 7/12, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM Note: This workshop will not meet on Fridays. Sage Hill will be closed on July 4 in observance of the Fourth of July holiday. There will also be three or four practice tests throughout the workshop that will last 3.5 hours each (10:00 AM - 1:30 PM.) Class of 2025 students are facing challenging and complex decisions regarding their college admissions testing plans. Many colleges and universities have recently adapted their testing policies, and the SAT is approaching its most significant change in its nearly 100-year history. This course is designed to help students navigate the new testing process by providing students with deep exposure to all three college admission test options on the menu for the Class of 2025. Students will explore standardized testing strategies and complete full length practice tests for: the traditional, paper-based ACT the traditional, paper-based SAT the new digital, adaptive SAT. By completing the course this summer, students will gain the information and test-taking experience needed to make a choice of optimal test format going into the next academic year. Students will be required to take a practice test prior to the start of this workshop.
